Tim Steidten sets Crysencio Summerville challenge at West Ham United

Tim Steidten has challenged Crysencio Summerville to be a successful signing like Mohammed Kudus at West Ham, according to The Athletic.

Roshane Thomas reported for the online outlet on 18 September that the technical director challenged the Dutchman while he was “courting his signing” from Leeds United.

This saw the German encourage the 22-year-old to “become a success” like Kudus and Edson Alvarez, both of whom signed 12 months before Summerville.

Crysencio Summerville backed to be West Ham success

There was plenty of fanfare when the Hammers brought in the Championship Player of the Year from Elland Road earlier in the summer.

The winger had an electric campaign in the second tier last season and looked ready to make the step to the Premier League.

It hasn’t been the dream start to life at the London Stadium for Summerville, who has had to be patient earning minutes under Julen Lopetegui.

The former Feyenoord youngster must set his sights on starting in the future and use Kudus as a role model to base his game on in East London.

The Ghana international has been superb since joining from Ajax and has become a key star alongside Lucas Paqueta and Jarrod Bowen going forward.

As a result, it was never going to be an easy task for the Dutchman to earn a starting role for the Irons immediately.

There is plenty of time remaining this campaign for the ex-Leeds star to show his qualities in claret and blue.
