Tim Sherwood makes new West Ham fan admission after win vs Burnley – ‘I have to say…’

Tim Sherwood has praised West Ham United supporters for getting fully behind their side in their past two home matches.

West Ham followed up their 3-1 win over Newcastle United with a 3-2 victory over Burnley at the weekend.

Callum Wilson stole the show for West Ham as he rewarded the faith now being shown in him by Nuno Espirito Santo.

West Ham fans have protested at the London Stadium ahead of those past two games, but fans ultimately got right behind their players to get them over the line for six crucial points.

Tim Sherwood impressed by West Ham

As many as 10,000 West Ham fans protested ahead of the Burnley game, sending out a clear message to David Sullivan and Karren Brady in the process.

But Sherwood says the most important thing is that the fans get behind their side, which has very much been the case.

“I have to say, the last two home wins they’ve had, the atmosphere has been okay – no complaints there,” Sherwood said on Sky Sports News on Monday morning.

Yes they’ve had protests, which they’re entitled to, but they’ve also got behind the team. They’ve got something to support at the moment.

They’ve got a centre-forward who can score in Callum Wilson, which helps. The fans want attacking football.

West Ham remain in the Premier League relegation zone despite the back-to-back wins, but they are now level on points with Burnley in 17th.

West Ham still have third-worst home form in Premier League

Beating Newcastle and Burnley has massively lifted the mood around the London Stadium, where West Ham previously couldn’t buy a win.

Indeed, even accounting for these past two games, West Ham are still third from bottom in the Premier League’s home form table.

They have six points from six matches at the London Stadium for a nice round average of one point per game so far at the London Stadium.

Only Tottenham and Wolves are averaging fewer points per game at home this season than the Hammers, but Nuno has now managed to turn things around.

West Ham are back in action at the London Stadium on 30 November against Liverpool – a fixture they are notoriously bad in – but first is a trip to Bournemouth on 22 November.
