Tim Sherwood: Aaron Cresswell corner changed game for West Ham

Tim Sherwood credits Aaron Cresswell for changing the game for West Ham in the 1-0 win against Everton on Sunday at Goodison Park.

The Hammers were in control of proceedings up until Angelo Ogbonna’s strike, but did not have a goal to show for it.

However, the Italian converted from an inch-perfect Cresswell corner, which proved to be the deciding factor in the game.

Speaking on Premier League Productions after the match, Sherwood, a Sky Sports pundit, said, “A brilliant corner from Cresswell. Absolutely changed the game.”

Vital three points

In the past, despite dominating games, the Hammers have failed to secure the three points so there was satisfaction that they got the job done here.

When Ogbonna’s header found the back of the net, there was just as much relief as there was joy, and David Moyes will undoubtedly treasure the three points.

He watched his side dominate possession, but they failed to muster any telling goal-scoring chances.

However, after that goal, the game opened up and the Hammers had chances to double their advantage, just like the Toffees did.

They now find themselves in seventh place – just one point away from the top four, which is a very good position to be in.

Hopefully, they can carry on playing the same way and getting valuable points on the road.
