Three West Ham players statistically best in the PL this week
West Ham players Lukasz Fabianski, Aaron Cresswell and Tomas Soucek were three of the best performers in the Premier League this weekend according to Whoscored.com.
The Hammers secured a 1-0 win over struggling Fulham on Saturday with Soucek scoring the only goal of the game.
Fabianski was the hero at the other end as he saved a dreadful injury-time penalty from Ademola Lookman to make sure all three points stayed at the London Stadium.
The Hammers trio join the esteemed company of Bruno Fernandes and Harry Kane in the whoscored.com team of the week with Soucek rating highest out of the West Ham picks.
Soucek registered a rating of 8.41 out of ten while Cresswell and Fabianski registered 8.1 and 7.82 respectively.
The high ratings for Soucek and Fabianski are expected after their respective heroics at each end of the pitch but Cresswell’s inclusion raises a few eyebrows.
However, a look at the stats from Saturday’s game shows how impressive Cresswell was. The full-back registered an 89% passing accuracy and he made three interceptions along with two clearances in his 99 minutes on the pitch. (Wyscout)
He was also impressive going forward as he made three progressive runs and even managed to get a shot on target. Cresswell was crucial in West Ham’s positive result.
The Hammers travel to Bramall Lane after the international break and fans will be hoping their team can build on their recent run of good results by beating a Sheffield United side who are yet to win this season.
