This is who David Sullivan wants to replace Graham Potter with at West Ham now after sack update

Graham Potter’s time at West Ham is surely now at an end after Saturday’s poor home loss to Crystal Palace.

West Ham were beaten by Crystal Palace at the London Stadium to make it four defeats from five Premier League matches this season.

BBC Sport reported immediately after the match that West Ham have lined up replacements for Potter, although no official decision has yet been made on his future.

And it appears that one name is out in front when it comes to the frontrunner to replace Potter at the London Stadium.

Slaven Bilic emerges as favourite to replace Graham Potter at West Ham

West Ham fans protested against the owners ahead of kickoff on Saturday and the mood certainly did not improve inside the stadium.

Potter cut a disjointed figure at full-time, surely accepting that his time in East London is now over before it ever truly begun.

And in an update posted via X soon after full-time, talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook reported that Slaven Bilic is David Sullivan’s current preferred candidate to succeed Potter at West Ham.

The report adds that Karren Brady has also met with Nuno Espirito Santo and Gary O’Neil, with West Ham’s search for a new boss now very much in full swing.

Bilic is currently out of work, having last managed Saudi Arabian side Al-Fateh last year.

David Moyes’ Everton up next for West Ham

Potter’s decision making for the Crystal Palace match was questionable, and so it proved after another disappointing 90-minute display.

West Ham have now lost five out of six games this season, with the only exception being a 3-0 win at Nottingham Forest.

Next up for the Hammers is a trip to David Moyes’ West Ham a week on Monday, giving Sullivan, Brady and Co. plenty of time to ponder Potter’s future.

But on the basis of what we have seen throughout Potter’s tenure, not least this season, they should only need hours to decide rather than days.
