‘Take him off’ – Some West Ham fans unimpressed with Haller’s first half v Leeds
Plenty of West Ham fans were unimpressed with the performance of Sebastien Haller during the first half of the 2-1 win against Leeds on Friday night.
The Hammers went in with the score 1-1 at the break, but the Ivory Coast international missed two presentable opportunities to score early on, while he was caught out by Leeds defender Liam Cooper in the build-up to the Whites opener.
Starting in the centre-forward role in the absence of Michail Antonio, the former Eintracht Frankfurt man completed just seven passes in the first 45 minutes, at a 64% accuracy rate, while neither of his two shots on target tested Illan Meslier in the Leed goal (via WhoScored).
The 26-year-old won two of his three aerial duels but he failed to complete a dribble and did not create anything with his 23 touches of the ball (via WhoScored).
One fan described his first-half showing as “really poor”, while another said that he had been the Hammers’ “weakest link tonight”. Following his sub-par display, one supporter even suggested that the club would be lucky to get £20 million for a player they spent £45 million on last summer.
Here are some of the best reactions to his first-half performance from West Ham supporters on Twitter.

Haller ended up seeing out the entire 90 minutes of the win against Leeds but you would imagine after a performance like that, David Moyes will be itching to get Michail Antonio back in the side.
Antonio’s injury issues have been annoying in recent weeks because Haller is failing to step up week after week with only his goal against Sheffield United to rave about.
January is coming up and it will be interesting to see whether Moyes will have money to bring in a new striker.
