Super computer predicts West Ham United relegation chances after 4-0 loss v Brighton
A super computer have made their prediction on West Ham United’s relegation chances after their 4-0 defeat to Brighton on Saturday (4 March).
The Hammers were battered by the Seagulls as fans turned on David Moyes, with the team now just one point above the relegation zone with 13 games remaining of the season.
The team are now set to return to European action but FiveThirtyEight (6 March) have run the numbers and believe that West Ham will be able to avoid the drop despite their current poor form.

According to their data, West Ham are set to end the season on 40 points with a -11 goal difference, which leaves them with a 14% chance of being relegated this season.
Bournemouth, Southampton and Everton are seen as the most likely trio to go down on 33, 33 and 34 points respectively, while Nottingham Forest (36 pts) and Leeds (37 pts) are also expected to finish below West Ham.
Phew
As it stands, West Ham need to take all the positives they can because what we saw at the weekend was simply unacceptable.
The players didn’t turn up against Brighton, and they were absolutely battered on the pitch and made to look like amateurs.

The manager looks like he has run out of ideas, the fans have turned on him and a lot of the players, and nothing is seemingly getting a reaction out of them to change the fortunes around.
Despite that though, data suggests the team will avoid relegation still and at this point we have to be thankful of that and simply hope and pray that it turns out that way.
We have the quality in our squad to perform to a standard that would see us avoid the drop, but until they start performing to their actual level it can’t be ruled out.
Nobody is too good to be relegated, and West Ham should know that better than anyone.
