Summerville could miss West Ham United v Crystal Palace with injury, medical results due
Crysencio Summerville may have to wait for his first minutes in a West Ham United shirt, according to Last Word On Sports.
The website reported [1 August] that a minor strain may mean he is not risked for their Stateside friendly with Crystal Palace this weekend.
Summerville is on the verge of completing his move to the London Stadium from Leeds United for an initial fee in excess of £25m, plus add-ons [Sean Whetstone, 1 August].
With the Dutchman undergoing a medical in East London on Thursday (1 August), it is hoped he can join his new teammates on the club’s American tour, where they will take on cross-city rivals Palace.
Summerville will not be rushed by West Ham
With the funds being dug out by West Ham to secure Summerville ahead of many other interested suitors, the last thing they will do is rush him onto the pitch too hastily.
Any worsening of an injury would be a nightmare for Lopetegui, who is hoping to have the 22-year-old available for his first competitive fixture against Aston Villa on 17 August.
The Hammers return from their Florida training base after their contest against Oliver Glasner’s Palace side, and will take on Celta Vigo next weekend as the EFL gets under way a week before the Premier League.

Summerville will be hoping to replicate the form with which he lit up the Championship last term, stepping back up to the highest level, and earn a place in the full Netherlands side.
His signing could be supplemented by the capture of Niclas Fullkrug, who has been allowed to leave by Borussia Dortmund [The Mirror, 1 August] and is en route to London for further talks [Sean Whetstone, 1 August].
