Stuart Pearce shares what he wouldn’t be surprised to see with Graham Potter after West Ham sack
Graham Potter will be assessing his options after being sacked as West Ham manager.
Potter was sacked over the phone by Karren Brady as he was on his way into Rush Green to take first-team training at the weekend.
The 50-year-old was made to do the pre-match press conference for the game against Everton last week, only to be dismissed just 24 hours later.
Nuno Espirito Santo was quickly appointed by West Ham, and took training and was in the dugout for the 1-1 draw with Everton.

Graham Potter to go abroad after West Ham spell – Stuart Pearce
West Ham appeared to back Potter in recent weeks, with the club’s reply to the letter of no confidence explaining their decision to appoint him.
David Sullivan even appeared willing to give Potter until October to turn things around at the London Stadium, with complications getting a deal done for Nuno.
However, the Hammers ultimately elected to part ways with the 50-year-old after a torrid eight months in charge.
All eyes are now on where he could end up next after two poor spells in the Premier League.
Potter reportedly had multiple managerial offers during his almost two-year break after leaving Chelsea before he returned to manage West Ham.
- Potter had the worst record of any West Ham manager ever, with a points per game record of one
- He also had a win percentage of just 28% since he took over from Julen Lopetegui in January
He will likely take another break after leaving East London before stepping back into the world of football.
Former Irons defender Stuart Pearce has provided his thoughts on where Potter might end up next on talkSPORT on 30 September.
“It wouldn’t surprise me if he turns up abroad. He has been abroad before, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him take a job abroad to get that self-confidence back,” he said.
Freddie Potts to benefit from Potter’s exit
Freddie Potts and George Earthy both turned down Championship loans to stay and fight for their place in East London.
Despite this, Potter has had the pair nowhere near the starting eleven and will have felt let down.
However, Nuno was quick to place his trust in Potts, who came on for the final half an hour against Everton and managed to tackle Jack Grealish more times than any other player.
Nuno has a reputation for developing youngsters and giving them a chance in the first team. Therefore, Potts will likely begin to thrive after a difficult few months.
