Stan Collymore predicts West Ham United vs Arsenal Premier League result

Stan Collymore has predicted the outcome of West Ham United’s Premier League clash with Arsenal on Sunday at the London Stadium.

The League leaders head to East London looking to re-establish their six-point lead at the top after Manchester City’s 3-1 win over Leicester City.

In his weekly Sunday People column (pg 54, 16 April), the outspoken pundit has backed Mikel Arteta’s side to beat West Ham 2-0.

“It won’t be all singing, all dancing from Arsenal but a solid result and reaction to the draw at Liverpool,” said Collymore.

Tough ask

Everyone understands the enormity of the task at hand for West Ham, which could take the pressure off somewhat. David Moyes’ side are looking to make it back-to-back victories which would pull them six points away from the bottom three.

Results went the Hammers’ way on Saturday with Everton, Leicester and Southampton all losing. Nottingham Forest also face a tough test at home to Manchester United. The performance against Fulham was disappointing, but the result was the sole focus for Moyes.

West Ham United

After recent results, the relegation battle has finally spaced out slightly. There were a number of teams separated by just one or two points but that is not the case anymore.

Realistically, a point would be an excellent result against the league leaders. Arteta’s side have been mesmeric for large parts of the 2022/23 campaign and will be desperate to capitalise on the chance which has presented itself.

A backs-against-the-wall display should be expected at the London Stadium on Sunday.
