Stan Collymore predicts West Ham United v Liverpool clash
West Ham United host Liverpool on Sunday and Stan Collymore does not see the visitors leaving the London Stadium with all three points despite their form.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are the only Premier League team yet to lose a game this season, winning six and drawing four times.
The Hammers face their sternest test of the season thus far when the Reds come to town, but Collymore is backing David Moyes’ men to hold them to a 1-1 draw.
“Tough one for Liverpool but the only thing that will beat the Reds are a little bit of fatigue and complacency”, he said in the print edition of the People [November 7, page 56].
Very possible
Liverpool have been held to draws by Brighton and Brentford, and Moyes would have spent sleepless nights watching those tapes just to come up with the perfect plan to thwart them.
West Ham will need to stop the visitors from scoring, and becoming the first team to shut out the Merseysiders across all competitions this term would boost their chances of causing an upset.
That is a very big ask given the current form of Mohamed Salah, but it is very possible if Kurt Zouma, Angelo Ogbonna and Lukasz Fabianski can be on top of their game.
West Ham will get chances at the other end, and while they will not be many, they could be enough for the hosts to get a win if the players make the most of them.
The Hammers need to be perfect in both boxes if they want to get a result against one of the best teams on the planet at the moment, and given their form this term, not many will be surprised if they do so.
