Spurs do not have funds to sign Jarrod Bowen from West Ham

Tottenham Hotspur do not have the funds needed to sign West Ham attacker Jarrod Bowen, claim Claret & Hugh.

The Independent reported recently that Spurs and Liverpool were among the clubs circling around the 24-year-old.

However, the C&H update details that Spurs cannot afford him, and have stated that if he does leave the club, he will not be heading to North London.

Tough fit on their hands

Bowen is still in the early days of his career and has a few years to go before he hits his peak.

West Ham signed him at the opportune time as he would be available for at least twice the reported £20million-plus they paid for him, per the aforementioned Independent report.

However, Liverpool are a billionaire-owned club and have the money to splash on a player like Bowen and don’t have the burden of reportedly having to shell out up to £50million next summer as Spurs do.

Roberto Firmino is on the decline and with little-to-no backup for Sadio Mane or Mo Salah, Bowen could be seen as the ideal signing.

When it comes to Spurs, there’s no chance of them signing him so the Hammers fans will be relieved that he won’t be moving to their London rivals.

He still has four years left on his deal so the Hammers will not be bullied into selling him on the cheap at least for a couple of years.
