Sky Sports share West Ham United transfer news as positive Luiz Felipe talks take place
Discussions between West Ham United and Real Betis for the signing of Luiz Felipe have been positive, according to Sky Sports News.
Al Final De La Palmera (10 July) reported that the Hammers were in advanced negotiations with the La Liga outfit for Felipe’s signature which would see the Spanish club make “transcendental” capital gain, having brought the centre-back to the club for free just last summer.
And Sky Sports now claim that the Irons are continuing talks for the defender’s signature with positive discussions over the fee and possible structure.

The Mirror also reported on 10 July that West Ham United were looking to sign both Felipe and Juventus midfielder Denis Zakaria this week for a combined fee of around £25m.
Centre-back option needed
West Ham desperately need defensive reinforcements, having struggled with a huge number of injury problems last season, drastically causing their disappointing form in the Premier League.
Angelo Ogbonna, Kurt Zouma, Thilo Kehrer and Nayef Aguerd all endured periods on the treatment table last year, and it’s why the reports have emerged over the past month linking the Irons with the likes of Manchester City’s Taylor Harwood-Bellis and AS Roma’s Roger Ibanez as well as Felipe.

And the latest reports now suggest that West Ham United may now be close to sealing Felipe’s signature and the Brazilian certainly seems a very good business by the Hammers, should they get him to the form he showed for Lazio.
The 26-year-old only made 22 La Liga starts for Betis last season, having joined on a free transfer in July 2022, and it’s safe to say the Brazilian didn’t take the club by storm, hence their decision to sell him but the Hammers may prove the ideal platform for him to return to his best form yet, and there’s a reason why Moyes and Tim Steidten are pushing for this signing.
In other West Ham news, club sources have denied any bid for new midfielder.
