Sky Sports share new Pablo Fornals footage from Rush Green as bid made to sign West Ham United star

Sky Sports News have shared footage of Pablo Fornals in West Ham United training at Rush Green after Real Betis made a bid to sign the winger in a late January move.

Reports emerged from Dharmesh Sheth (31 January) that there is currently a gap in valuation between the Hammers and the Spanish side, with Fornals expected to remain at the London Stadium unless Betis improve their transfer offer.

It remains to be seen whether Manuel Pellegrini’s side will make an improved offer for the Spanish midfielder ahead of Thursday (1 January) night’s transfer deadline, but while that has been unfolding, Fornals has been spotted in training.

In footage posted by Sky Sports to X on Wednesday (31 January), Fornals is seen putting a training bib on while juggling a football alongside an Irons coach at their Rush Green training base.

Nothing imminent

Fornals’ presence at West Ham United’s training ground would suggest that no January transfer away from the London Stadium is imminent, even if speculation around his future has been rife throughout the January window.

The Hammers’ midfielder has 18 months left on his deal in East London and therefore, West Ham are in no rush to sell the Spanish international before Thursday’s deadline as his value is unlikely to drop too drastically in the space of six months.

Therefore, the Irons can hold out for what they believe is an acceptable fee for the 27-year-old and wait and see whether or not Betis decide to match it. If not, they’ll get plenty of value out of him on the pitch for the remainder of the season.

This feels like a move which could progress rather quickly over the next few hours as panic sets in closer to the end of the transfer window. Maybe this training footage may be the last we see of Fornals in West Ham colours for the foreseeable future.
