Sky Sports pundit wowed by ‘superman’ Lukasz Fabianski in West Ham United draw v Leeds United
West Ham United produced one of their most spirited Premier League displays in recent weeks after a dramatic 2-2 draw with Leeds United, and they had goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski to thank at the end.
Sky Sports pundit Jay Bothroyd was full of praise for the Polish international goalkeeper after he pulled off a sensational save from Rodrigo in the dying moments of the game.
After much clamour for the former Arsenal stopper to be dropped following a poor performance against his former side on Boxing Day, the 37-year-old produced a spell-binding performance to save his side from yet another disappointing defeat.

And Bothroyd, working for Sky Sports on the night, described the pole as “superman” and said the Hammers goalkeeper pulled off “one of the saves of the season”.
Speaking on Sky Sports News on Wednesday (4 January, 09:42pm), he said: “It was almost a great finish. Fabianski, a great save from Rodrigo.
“They had a set piece. They’ve played it over the top. The centre-half headed it back across, Rodrigo’s got good contact on it, he’s glanced it to the near post and Fabianski’s like, done a superman save.
“That could be one of the saves of the season, and he’s earned the team a point.”
Goalkeeping heroics
On a night when West Ham United and David Moyes could simply not avoid yet another disappointing defeat In the Premier League, Fabianski had only just gone and indeed pulled off one of the most important saves of the season.
It could well be one of the saves which save the Hammers from the drop come the end of the campaign.

The Pole hasn’t had his best of campaigns in all honesty, conceding 24 goals in 18 league games, and many calling for him to be replaced by Alphonse Areola as Moyes’ number one goalkeeper.
However, the 37-year-old veteran responded with great aplomb pulling some unstoppable saves when the club needed him most.
In what could well be his last campaign in West Ham colours, hopefully, his goal-saving performance against Leeds can be the start of many more as the club continues their desperate attempt to pull clear of the bottom half of the table.
