Sky Sports pundit wants to see Michail Antonio and Gianluca Scamacca start together for West Ham United
Don Hutchison has called for David Moyes to play both Michail Antonio and Gianluca Scamacca together after West Ham were beaten by Manchester United.
The Hammers failed to find the back of the net yet again as they fell to a seventh league defeat of the season, and it was the sixth time they’d drawn a blank over 90 minutes.
After watching Antonio come on as a substitute in place of Scamacca during the game though, former Irons midfielder and current Sky pundit Hutchison took to his personal Twitter account [30 October] to call for a simple change of tact to get more goals.
“Antonio and Scamacca anyone…..” he said, calling for more firepower in attack.
Needed
West Ham fans have been calling to see the two strikers together for a while now, and yet we’ve barely seen it this season despite our struggles.
Both Antonio and Scamacca have been able to score goals individually this season, and the way they play seems quite well entwined to the point where they could form an excellent partnership.
Antonio is also well capable of playing on the wing as he used to, so Moyes wouldn’t even necessarily need to change his system much to incorporate it which is what Ian Wright suggested.
It would give the team so much needed goal threat away from the striker and Jarrod Bowen would have his best partner back on the pitch too.
It’s something that has to be considered for the coming games before the World Cup break, with West Ham in need of some big wins to avoid a troublesome second half of the campaign when they should be pushing for Europe.
