Sky Sports pundit Leroy Rosenior praises West Ham trio in Watford win

Leroy Rosenior was pleased with the performances of Michail Antonio, Jarrod Bowen and Said Benrahma as West Ham strolled to a 4-1 win over Watford on Tuesday.

The Hammers came from behind to bag a convincing victory at Vicarage Road today (28 December), and the pundit predicted the win on Sky Sports News just minutes after the hosts went ahead.

Dennis Emmanuel opened the scoring, but the Hornets’ lead did not last long as West Ham made it 2-1 heading into half-time before scoring two more goals when play resumed, and Rosenior noted how the aforementioned trio were constantly trying to make things happen after the visitors went behind.

He said: “Bowen, Antonio and Benrahma have all got on the ball in the final third and looked dangerous.

“Watford haven’t done that enough – even though they’re a goal to the good.

“They need to get their good players into the game and get higher up the pitch, otherwise they will concede.”

Top performances

The attacking trio all got involved in all of the four goals, and they were indeed brilliant.

Benrahma helped put West Ham ahead shortly after Tomas Soucek drew them level, with Antonio providing the assist.

Bowen weighed in with two assists, had a goal disallowed and won the penalty from which Mark Noble scored from.

He was arguably the man of the match, and David Moyes will be hoping he and his teammates can use today’s victory to inspire themselves going forward.

West Ham

The Irons headed to Watford on the back of just a win in seven league games, and they needed today’s win badly.

Crystal Palace is next at Selhurst Park on New Year before games against Leeds United and Manchester United, and picking up nine points from those games is very much possible.

Benrahma will not be available due to the Africa Cup of Nations, but Antonio and Bowen will be looking to deliver the goods on a consistent basis after recent struggles in front of goal.
