Sky Sports journalist: West Ham mocked by 'you're having a laugh' chant at London Stadium v Blackburn
West Ham lasted just six minutes before conceding to Blackburn Rovers in Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup clash.
West Ham suffered another poor start on Wednesday evening, with Blackburn’s Jack Vale scoring after six minutes to send the away support into raptures.
After the Championship side took the lead, Sky Sports journalist Lewis Jones revealed that the Blackburn fans took aim at West Ham’s Premier League status with a mocking chant.
Via Sky Sports (9 November, 7:54pm), Jones said: “It’s taken eight minutes for West Ham to have a touch in the Blackburn half – that’s how dominant the Championship side have been. Slow starts have been a common theme of late for the Hammers. No change here.
“The away fans, which looks nearly sold out, belt out a rendition of: ‘Premier League, you’re having a laugh’.”

David Moyes made plenty of changes to Wednesday’s lineup, but there is still plenty of quality on the pitch and going a goal down so early is inexcusable.
The team against Crystal Palace last Sunday started slowly and regardless of who started against Blackburn a quicker and more energetic first half was necessary.
Moyes will be hugely disappointed by his players’ attitude in the match and he can’t allow it to become a recurring theme at the club.
To be mocked by the away fans should be enough of a wake-up for the West Ham players on the pitch, but if not Moyes will need to deliver another scathing half-time team talk to his players.
The Premier League will of course be Moyes’ priority this season after a poor start to the campaign, but a cup run would’ve been enjoyable for fans and if it ends against Championship opposition it’ll be extremely disappointing.
Plus the last thing Moyes needs is more pressure being added to his job with another defeat.
