Sky Sports journalist moots England call-up for ‘sensational’ Jarrod Bowen, West Ham United man ‘outstanding’
It is difficult to argue against a place in the upcoming England squad for West Ham ace Jarrod Bowen, according to Sky Sports journalist Nick Wright.
The winger, who was not selected for the most recent Three Lions squad, scored his club’s opening goal against Sheffield United on Saturday (30 September).
David Moyes’s side defeated the newly promoted Blades 2-0 at the London Stadium in their Premier League clash, with Tomas Soucek also on target.

“With his clinical low finish in West Ham’s 2-0 win over Sheffield United, Jarrod Bowen made it five goals from seven Premier League games this season,” Wright wrote for Sky Sports. “Factor in his dramatic winner in the Europa Conference League final in June and it’s six in eight.
“He could easily have had more on Saturday afternoon at the London Stadium. His goalbound header in the first half drew a fine save from Wes Foderingham. But he was sensational regardless, earning a standing ovation when he was substituted late on.
“David Moyes said afterwards the 26-year-old must be “closer than ever” to earning an England recall and it is difficult to argue otherwise. Bowen has been one of the Premier League’s outstanding performers this season. Only Erling Haaland and Heung-Min Son have scored more goals.”

Superstar
Bowen didn’t have his best season in claret and blue last time out, even if it was his heroics that were key to West Ham lifting the Europa Conference League trophy.
But he is absolutely back to his best this time around, with the winger bursting out of the blocks in the new Premier League campaign.
It was a major shock that neither Bowen nor his club teammate James Ward-Prowse were selected by Southgate for the most recent England squad. That is not a mistake that the Three Lions boss should make again, with the East London duo in sensational form.
There are, of course, plenty of talented English players in the same positions as the West Ham pair, but they still more than deserve a place in the squad.
Even if Bowen is overlooked once again, it will take nothing away from his fantastic season so far, with Hammers fans hoping the superb displays keep on coming.
