Sky Sports issue transfer update on West Ham United defender Thilo Kehrer amid Aston Villa links
West Ham defender Thilo Kehrer has emerged as a transfer target for Aston Villa and Eintracht Frankfurt, according to Sky Sports Austria.
The broadcaster reported on 9 December that things are not going well for the 27-year-old Germany international at the London Stadium.
He is yet to make a Premier League start in the 2023/24 season which means he’s way down in the pecking order.

Cash in
Kehrer’s limited playing time under manager David Moyes, with only 18 league minutes this season, suggests that he may not be a crucial part of the manager’s long-term plans.
This lack of regular first-team action could lead to diminishing player value and hinder the club’s ability to maximise his transfer fee.
Secondly, with Kehrer being a Germany international, his market value may still be relatively high, allowing West Ham to secure a decent fee for his services.

This influx of funds could then be reinvested in strengthening areas of the squad where the team may have more immediate needs or lack depth.
Moreover, if Kehrer is seeking more playing time to maintain his international standing, a move to Aston Villa could offer him increased opportunities, benefiting both the player and the selling club.
It’s baffling as to why a side that are currently third would want to sign the 27-year-old but these aren’t questions Moyes will be asking.
In other West Ham news, a BBC pundit has admitted that he’ll come out of retirement just to play with a West Ham star after what he did recently.
