Sky Sports Insider: West Ham ready to sell mainstay if £45million offered

It has been made no secret that West Ham United may need to sell players in order to bring in fresh faces this summer.

The Premier League starts in three weeks time, and the Irons have yet to make any significant moves.

It has been reported by the Guardian that the likes of Felipe Anderson and Fabian Balbuena could be shown the exit door at the London Stadium by David Moyes.

Balbuena may be about to receive a lifeline though. Sky Sports have reported that Issa Diop is another who could leave the club.

It is suggested that the Irons need to sell, and the Frenchman could be allowed to leave for up to £45million by the club.

According to the report, the Hammers had previously demanded up to £75million when Manchester United were interested last summer.

Diop is said to be on half of the weekly wages that others are at West Ham, and he could earn a large increase in wages with a fresh start.

The 23-year-old made 32 appearances in the Premier League season and was a mainstay in Moyes’ plans after he arrived.

Diop made over five clearances per game according to WhoScored and impressed alongside Angelo Ogbonna.

The Italian international was superb at the London Stadium, and if Diop chooses to stick around in the Premier League with the Irons, that could be a real partnership.
