Simon Jordan: West Ham United board will sell Declan Rice in summer

Simon Jordan has insisted that West Ham United will sell Declan Rice before he makes 200 appearances for the club.

The Irons skipper made his 150th outing for the club in the 3-2 win over Crystal Palace, with other landmarks not expected.

Jordan shared that Daniel Kretinsky and the Hammers board will accept offers north of £100million in the imminent future.

Speaking on talkSPORT this morning (11:51 am, 03/01) Jordan shared that there is no doubt Rice will leave the club.

“He won’t make 200 appearances for West Ham,” he said.

“That’s not because West Ham aren’t a fertile ground for him to play good football at, it’s because someone will make a compelling offer to West Ham.

“Irrespective of Czech Republic huge investment into that club, they will sell him, and it probably will be north of £100million.”

Kretinsky’s first big move?

We hope that Kretinsky and his board make bigger moves this month to strengthen the squad in terms of incomings first.

Rice leaving wouldn’t surprise many of us at the London Stadium, but it would be a huge shame moving forward.

With progression in mind, qualifying for the Champions League this season and then keeping Rice and building the squad around him is the only path to take.

Kretinsky won’t know every last in and out or traditions at the London Stadium since arriving, but he will know just how important Rice is to this side.

We hope Jordan is miles from the truth, but if someone does come in with an offer north of £100million and we fail to finish in the top four or six, it looks as though this will be the outcome.
