Simon Jordan slams AZ Alkmaar ‘morons’ as West Ham United footage emerges
Simon Jordan has slammed AZ Alkmaar’s fans after footage emerged of a group of supporters attacking the area where West Ham United’s players’ families were located.
Footage emerged after full-time of a group of AZ fans gathering towards the halfway line where the friends and family of West Ham’s players were located.
Jordan has brandished the group “morons” live on talkSPORT and admitted he’s annoyed that the club will get punished for the actions of individuals.
“Now tell me it’s the English disease. The bottom line is, they’re not football fans,” said Jordan (talkSPORT, 19 May).
“I don’t know what they are, but they’re not fans. I don’t suppose they were aiming for the family enclosure. That’s perhaps of untended consequences of where they were located.
“What can you say about it? The fact there weren’t any arrests, I don’t know why that was the case. I hate that the club faces consequences for individual choices made by individual morons!
“There’s not a lot the club can do about it. But that’s the necessary consequences and ramifications of it.
“They are using a match as an excuse to be thugs & hooligans. Cowards, if you’re going to do something that you feel is right, do it full in the glare without masks.”
Ridiculous
What actually goes through their heads? These cowards have decided to attack a group of fans with their faces covered. It’s pathetic. Unfortunately for AZ, they will be the ones who feel the repercussions, when, realistically, the individuals should be banned from all football stadia for life.
It’s very hard for clubs to stop certain individuals from doing certain things. And when a group of people all want to act in a particular way, it’s impossible to prevent. We all saw how many AZ fans there were. The stewards were completely outnumbered.

As much as Stewards are employed to ensure crowd safety. Preventing an onrushing crowd of 100-plus hooligans is probably out of their remit. Thankfully, it appears nobody was significantly hurt.
Considering the scenes which occurred on Thursday evening, it’s remarkable to see English football fans treated in such a poor way. It would simply never occur at a UK ground.
