Simon Jordan reacts as Jim White drops David Moyes West Ham United sack update live on talkSPORT

David Moyes will be in charge of West Ham against Fulham this weekend but “cannot afford to lose”, Jim White has revealed on talkSPORT.

The Hammers were thrashed 5-1 at home by Newcastle on Wednesday (5 April) leaving them outside the relegation zone on goal difference along with ten games remaining.

But Moyes is still expected to be in charge for the next game despite his position being considered “more vulnerable than ever“, although Simon Jordan reacted to the news live on talkSPORT (6 April, 12:32) with a suggestion that there could be “problems” if they put in another performance like they did against Newcastle.

“It’s our understanding here that Moyes is going to be in charge for the game against Fulham at the weekend, Simon. Business as usual. But there’s an added ingredient to that. It’s also understood that Fulham is a game that David Moyes cannot afford to lose. So I mean, you don’t need to be Einstein to know that Simon. He needs a win and he needs it fast.”

“Yeah, certainly a performance (is needed). If they get beat out of sight like they just did against Newcastle then I think there is going to be problems, but I think they’ll get a result.”

Shocking

It’s absolutely ridiculous from the board to keep Moyes in a job after a performance like the one we saw on Wednesday but also for the season we’ve had.

Since January 2022 the form of West Ham in the Premier League has been abysmal, but his run in the Europa League last year and the fact we were higher up the table saved him.

This year there is no such luxury, and our progression in the Europa Conference League has been expected at every stage because we’re far better than the opposition.

However in the Premier League that isn’t the case and we’re being punished regularly by our opponents because the players have stopped responding to the manager and his methods.

Change is needed, and all we’re doing by giving him the Fulham game is losing the chance to put three points on the board with someone else in the dugout instead.
