Simon Jordan makes prediction for Leeds vs West Ham showdown after Nuno’s loss vs Brentford

West Ham face a quick turnaround in the Premier League as they head to Leeds on Friday.

West Ham’s 2-0 defeat to Brentford has left morale at an all-time low, as Nuno Espirito Santo still looks for his first win in charge.

Jamie O’Hara was hugely critical of West Ham’s performance on Monday, with the loss leaving the Hammers in 19th place in the Premier League table.

West Ham travel to Elland Road to take on their relegation rivals and Simon Jordan has predicted how that game could unfold.

Simon Jordan: Nuno Espirito Santo will be happy with a draw vs Leeds

After the dismal loss to Brentford at the London Stadium, Nuno will be expecting a response from his players, as a loss to Leeds would seriously condemn West Ham as relegation candidates.

West Ham are now expected to be relegated, and these concerns will exponentially grow if they fail to pick up all three points.

Speaking on talkSPORT on 21 October, Jordan has predicted that Leeds will have far too much for West Ham after their performance on Monday.

He said: “You’ve got to say, it’s at Elland Road, you’d expect Leeds to win. If Calvert-Lewin can eventually score a goal, then it is Leeds’ match to win.

“If Nuno goes up there, locks them up, and gets a point, he’ll be happily coming back down the M1 in a good frame of mind.”

However, a draw would do nothing to quell the anger from fans who expect better from their team.

With supporters understandably pessimistic ahead of the match against Leeds, one thing they can rely on is West Ham’s positive form at Elland Road.

West Ham must avoid first Elland Road defeat in 20 years

West Ham last lost at Elland Road in February 2005, yet Friday’s match could very well see the end of that record.

In their nine meetings since, the Hammers have been dominant, with their only loss coming in January 2022.

West Ham’s last ten meetings against Leeds:

West Ham supporters are furious at the moment, and a loss on Friday would surely see toxicity towards David Sullivan reach boiling point.

With all three promoted sides proving that they can be competitive this season, the reality of relegation is starting to sink in for the first time since 2019-2020.

It’s imperative that the Hammers win, and if they do so, they can close the gap to 16th-placed Leeds to just one point.
