Simon Jordan: David Sullivan would sell his own grandmother for the right price
West Ham chairman and largest single shareholder David Sullivan would sell Declan Rice if offered the right money, claims Simon Jordan.
The England international is subject to transfer interest from a number of clubs, but West Ham have been firm with their stance about the player.
David Moyes has stated that Rice, with four years left on his deal, will only leave for over £100million – making him the most expensive English player of all time.

While discussing West Ham’s stance of not selling the midfielder at any price, Jordan said on talkSPORT, “David Sullivan would sell his own grandmother for the right price.
“Declan Rice is an outstanding player and a player that West Ham have the right to control the destiny of because they’ve put themselves into a decent situation contractually.
“But if someone wants to buy Declan Rice for the right amount of money, doesn’t matter who you are, the transfer will happen if it meets the expectations of what West Ham can do with that money.
“If someone comes through the door willing to pay £100million for him, I guarantee you they will sell him.”
Will we?
£100million is a lot of money and looking at it objectively from the perspective of the club, it would be a wise move.
Not only would it gives us money to sign two or three quality names, but it would also help to meet the contractual demands of certain players who may have considered leaving.

If weakening our defensive midfield leads to us signing someone not as capable there but sees our defence and attack strengthened, it’s certainly a move that in balance seems weighted in our favour.
That said, it’s unlikely any team can afford to pay Rice’s transfer fee, at least this summer. He is likelier to pen a contract extension when he gets the wages he receives.
We’re hoping that Rice staying doesn’t mean that Sullivan will tighten his grip over the transfer kitty as we desperately need to spend big this summer.
