Alan Shearer singles out ‘superb’ West Ham player in Arsenal result prediction
Alan Shearer has predicted a defeat for West Ham United when they host Arsenal at the London Stadium on Saturday.
Julen Lopetegui’s job remained intact as a result of the Hammers’ victory against Newcastle on Monday (25 November).
The Irons secured a 2-0 win against the Magpies, with defender Max Kilman impressing Shearer in particular as he gave his predictions for the Arsenal clash on 30 November.
Shearer told The Metro (29 November): “It was a great result for West Ham on Monday. I was really impressed with the way they nullified Newcastle and [Aaron] Wan-Bissaka did really well. I thought Max Kilman was superb.
“We saw Arsenal’s result in the Champions League and now going to West Ham, I think they’ll have too much quality in forward positions and will take the three points.”
West Ham need to use momentum from Newcastle United win
Although the performance arguably deserved less than what they got, it was a crucial three points for the Irons on Monday night and it should provide them with a springboard to use going forward.
The squad is full of talent that just simply hasn’t been showcased on a consistent basis under Lopetegui so far.
With that said, it isn’t too late in the season to make it a successful campaign but replicating results like the one against Newcastle will be crucial in the festive period.
Not only that, but an improvement in the general performance must be shown.

Arsenal will provide a tough test and, in reality, one that is likely to end in defeat. But if the Irons can show a good level of performance, it could do wonders for the club and for Lopetegui, who will surely face the sack if his side fail to improve.
The Spaniard remains under heavy pressure and his tenure could hinge on their ability to perform.
