Sean Dyche makes West Ham transfer admission after what happened to Everton
Sean Dyche believes Everton were the better team when they drew 0-0 with West Ham United at the London Stadium before the international break.
Julen Lopetegui was lucky to not be sacked after the Hammers were outplayed by the yearly Premier League strugglers and failed to pick up more than a point.
West Ham are 14th in the Premier League with just three wins in 11 matches despite amassing a net spend of £85.2million in the summer transfer window.
Dyche, who’s been hampered by financial restrictions and permanent behind-the-scenes strife at Everton, has pointed to the Hammers’ spend as a reason why his Toffees side did well in East London on 9 November.
Speaking in his press conference on Thursday, via talkSPORT (22 November, 09:27am), Dyche said: “It’s hard to bring positivity on a constant basis. A cloud has been hovering over the club for so long now that we kind of get a respite and then people deem it something different.
“In-house, the players have been very positive. I personally found it was a good performance down at West Ham; they’ve spent a lot of money, they’re a good outfit and we had a more dominant performance away from home, I’d suggest.
“You’ve just got to keep going and try to change that.”
Sean Dyche twists knife as West Ham continue to struggle in Premier League
Lopetegui’s appointment as manager was always a baffling one.
He’d not done anything special in England, compared to his predecessor David Moyes, who’s gone down in history as one of West Ham’s greatest-ever managers.
The ex-Wolves manager has come in, spent a lot of money on transfers and was widely praised for having one of the best summer transfer windows in the league.

But despite splashing the cash on Max Kilman, Crysencio Summerville, Luis Guilherme, Niclas Fullkrug and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the Hammers are doing a lot worse than they were under Moyes and could be in a relegation battle this term if they’re not careful.
Sullivan – to his credit – doesn’t like sacking managers. But when you’ve made as bad a mistake as hiring Lopetegui, you have to rectify it before things seriously go south.
Dyche is right to twist the knife over West Ham’s spend. The Irons’ position in the league is embarrassing considering the money they splashed out in the summer.
