Scamacca to arrive in London on Monday or Tuesday to complete West Ham move – Pedulia

Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca is likely to arrive in London on Monday or Tuesday to complete his move to West Ham United, according to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulia.

The Hammers are closing in on the signing of the Italy international in order to bolster their attacking department ahead of the next campaign.

Pedulia, in a tweet on Friday, July 23, stated that the negotiations are going smoothly and the player is expected to arrive in London in the next few days to complete the move.

Worth it

West Ham had a really impressive campaign last time around where they reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League and lost to eventual winners Eintracht Frankfurt.

After the semi-final defeat, manager David Moyes admitted that one of the reasons for his team’s exit from the competition was the lack of goal scorers within his team.

Therefore, Scamacca’s signing couldn’t have come at a better time for the former Manchester United manager. With the arrival of Italy International, the Hammers’ goalscoring problems is likely to be solved for the next campaign.

West Ham

In last season’s Serie A campaign with Sassuolo, Scamacca was instrumental in front of the goal as he netted 16 times in 36 appearances [Transfermarkt].

Those numbers clearly show that West Ham are getting an excellent forward who will not only strengthen the side in the final third but will also ease the burden of scoring goals from the likes of Michael Antonio and Jarrod Bowen next season.
