Robbie Savage predicts score of West Ham United v Liverpool, shares ‘dismal’ admission
Robbie Savage has predicted Liverpool will beat West Ham when the sides meet in the Premier League on Sunday (24 September).
Speaking to Football365 on Thursday (21 September), the pundit said the Reds are in “good form” and that the strength of the Hammers’ squad “will be tested” after playing in the Europa League.
Although the Merseysiders also played on Thursday in the competition, he believes the Irons’ “dismal record” at Anfield will continue, with the hosts claiming a 2-0 victory.

“I think Liverpool are in good form,” said Savage. “I think only Liverpool and Arsenal can challenge Manchester City for the title this season. West Ham, again a game in Europe in midweek, again the strength of the squad will be tested.
“Liverpool also playing [in Europe], but I’m gonna go with Liverpool to win this game and that dismal record for West Ham to continue at Anfield. I’m going for a Liverpool 2-0 win.”
Opportunity
There is no hiding the fact that West Ham’s record at Anfield is pretty shocking, but this is an opportunity to go there and prove that this team is different after a strong start to the campaign.
There is certainly no shortage of confidence in the side, with Michail Antonio making the headlines when he said earlier in the week that the Hammers would finish above Liverpool this season.
Speaking on the Footballer’s Football Podcast on Monday (18 September), the Jamaican international said: “I am backing myself over Liverpool. You know what, I think we are going to finish higher than Liverpool this season. I’m putting it out there.”

That, however, seems an unlikely prediction to come true, given that it has only happened on two occasions throughout Premier League history, with the East Londoners only ever finishing above the Merseysiders during the 1998/99 and 2015/16 seasons.
The 33-year-old forward and his teammates can go out there this weekend to try and back up that claim, but there is no doubt that they will have to be at their absolute best to get a result.
In other West Ham news, the club have received a multi-million financial windfall without kicking a ball.
