‘Ridiculous’ Lucas Paqueta ripped to shreds over West Ham comments as likely exit fee named
Lucas Paqueta has confirmed his loyalty to West Ham – for now, at least.
The Brazilian had a tumultuous summer, with FA charges hanging over him and speculation about his future at West Ham.
Paqueta was heavily linked to Aston Villa during the transfer window, but remained in East London.
The 28-year-old has been linked with other moves, but he will stay at the London Stadium for the foreseeable future.
Paqueta was back to his best against Nottingham Forest and will want to be a key player for the Hammers going forward.

Paqueta’s latest behaviour branded ‘reckless’
Paqueta’s celebration against Forest put to bed any speculation there was about a potential move away before the summer transfer window shut.
Paqueta has now taken to Instagram to reaffirm his commitment to West Ham for the time being, saying: “It’s not time to say goodbye yet! Let’s go together for one more season”.
However, it is that latter part that has fans concerned, with Paqueta implying – assuming there is no translation issue – he intends to leave next summer.
Jay Bothroyd blasted this post on Sky Sports on Friday morning, saying: “I’m gonna keep it real… that is just reckless.
“He’s not even the best player at West Ham. Last year, it was Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus, so he was third.
“He didn’t set the world alight at West Ham last season, then last week he did that phone celebration and is saying this [on Instagram]. “
The former QPR and Wolves striker continued his attack, branding Paqueta “stupid” for the post, and stating how much he believes West Ham will realistically be asking for him next year.
“It’s ridiculous,” he said. “Let’s be honest, who’s paying £60-70million for Paqueta? That’s what West Ham will be asking for. It’s stupid he’s even gone out and said that.”
Bothroyd was taking no prisoners with his assessment, and West Ham fans should hope their midfielder can ignore it ahead of this weekend.

West Ham need Paqueta to deliver the goods this season
West Ham face Tottenham this weekend in another huge London Derby, as they look for back-to-back wins.
Paqueta has shown the quality he possesses against Nottingham Forest last time out and will want to continue that form.
Hammers fans know the ability the 28-year-old has and want to see it on a more consistent basis.
While the Brazilian did struggle at times last campaign, it is important to consider the off-the-field troubles that were hanging over him at the time.
Paqueta will hopefully use Bothroyd’s response as motivation and prove that he is the player West Ham fans know he can be.
