Richard Keys calls for another West Ham exit after ‘shambles’ Graham Potter sacking

Graham Potter has been sacked at West Ham, with the timing of the decision causing surprise.

With one win from five this season, and a dreadful end to the campaign, it comes as no surprise that Potter has been sacked at West Ham.

However, with the Irons due to face Everton on Monday night, the timing of the call has caused shock at the London Stadium.

Potter will have known that this was coming, but Richard Keys has turned his focus to another West Ham figure after what they previously said about the Englishman.

Karren Brady told to follow Graham Potter out West Ham door

Karren Bardy has had a lot of criticism for several reasons at West Ham, though perhaps none as prominent as the words used when Potter was appointed.

After failing drastically at Chelsea, many knew that it would end in disaster, and with the Irons sitting second-bottom of the Premier League, it certainly has.

Brady previously defended the appointment of Potter, calling him “articulate” and emphasising how he was brought to West Ham to bring the best out of the players there.

Potter’s record at West Ham

That has backfired immediately, and in a post shared on X after the news, Keys has called for Brady to be the next figure to depart from the London Stadium.

He said: “Karren Brady should follow Potter out of the door. Remember, ‘we’ve appointed the right man to continue our success. Everything is in place’. Clearly not. What a shambles.”

It’s hard to disagree, and it will be a sentiment echoed around the London Stadium this weekend, and perhaps beyond.

West Ham open to ridicule after Graham Potter sack

Potter needed to be sacked at West Ham; that much is clear.

But after the comments made when he was hired, and the timing of the decision, the Hammers have dropped a clanger, and not for the first time.

Anyone who had watched West Ham last season was fully aware that this wasn’t a combination that was going to work, and yet they stuck with him for just five games into the new season.

With Nuno Santo expected to take charge at West Ham, they look like they will be set to rectify those mistakes, but it cannot be forgotten just how poorly they have handled this entire situation.
