Report: West Ham yet to hold talks or agree fee for Alex Kral
West Ham United are yet to hold any talks over the potential transfer of Spartak Moscow midfielder Alex Kral, according to Claret and Hugh.
Speculation has been growing intensely over the past weeks, with the Czech international joining up with the likes of Vladimir Coufal and Tomas Soucek for the EUROs.
A club source has told the reliable website that while the Hammers rate Kral highly, there have been zero discussions over a summer move.
The Hammers source did admit that Kral is rated highly at the London Stadium, though, and that a move could be possible later down the line.
It appears as though it depends on who leaves the club.
Declan Rice and Soucek will always be the main two midfielders under David Moyes, and it is suggested that the Irons may only make a move for Kral should either of those leave.
That could be a risky strategy.
When the skipper got injured last season, both Mark Noble and Manu Lanzini were also sidelined, leaving us with a major problem while also stifling the likes of Soucek.
Priorities.
Despite qualifying for Europe last season, there was still clear areas that are causing us major problems throughout our squad.
Jesse Lingard has since returned to Manchester United and will likely remain our main transfer priority moving forward.
As well as that, we are still yet to replace Sebastien Haller since he left in January, and only have Michail Antonio in the final third with more games to play.
We expect those two potential moves to take priority, and should Kral become available at a reasonable price later in the window, that is when we may make our move.
Moyes has to be smart this summer, with the budget not exactly expected to raise eyebrows despite our huge success in the past year.
Is Kral a priority signing? As of right now, probably not.
