Report: West Ham struggle to sell flop as two European clubs reject making move
West Ham United winger Felipe Anderson has never quite lived up to the hype after sealing his switch to the London Stadium.
His two years in east London has seen the Brazilian struggle to adapt to the Premier League, with Manuel Pellegrini leaving not helping either.
David Moyes has come in over the past six months and has favoured the likes of Jarrod Bowen after he arrived in January.
It was earlier reported that Moyes was planning a summer clearout before the Premier League kicks off again in September and that Anderson was one of those names under threat.
That doesn’t seem to be straight forward though, with both Lazio and Napoli refusing to make moves for the South American.
That’s according to the Daily Star, who have reported that the 27-year-old’s asking price is pushing clubs away.
Anderson arrived for £36million two years ago, and the Irons would likely want a similar fee so that their business wasn’t worthless.
As mentioned earlier, Bowen has come in and cemented his spot already on the right – another sign that Anderson has been nowhere near good enough.
The 27-year-old has only scored once in his 25 appearances, and Moyes will have been demanding more goal involvements – something that isn’t high as he has only delivered four assists on top.
On paper, Anderson was arriving as a world-class player, but he will be leaving nowhere near that standard should he be forced out in the next two months.
