Report: West Ham ace set for injury scans on Monday, doubtful for Everton clash

There was more doom and gloom on the injury front for West Ham United in the controversial 1-0 defeat at Sheffield United on Friday.

Both Lukasz Fabianski and Felipe Anderson were forced off at Brammall Lane before Robert Snodgrass’ equaliser was ruled out by VAR for a Declan Rice handball.

After that had calmed down after the full-time whistle, concerns would have immediately switched to Fabianski and his problem.

David Moyes will be confident in David Martin and Roberto, but both have proved that they are more than sketchy in between the sticks at times this season.

The Scotsman may have to rely on one of those two against Everton though. Claret and Hugh have delivered an injury update on the Polish stopper.

The reliable Hammers source shared on their website that Fabianski is set for scans on the problem on Monday, and remains a doubt for the clash with Carlo Ancelotti’s Toffees at the London Stadium.

That would be a big blow for the Hammers, who have started to look much better in the past couple of weeks with Fabianski available to them.

It was Martin who came on against Sheffield United on Friday, and he should have saved Oli McBurnie’s winner for the Blades – failing to keep out a simple shot on goal.

That could leave Moyes considering Roberto, but surely that would be the wrong choice given the catalogue of errors made by the Spaniard already this season.
