Report details injury update on Arthur Masuaku
West Ham insiders Claret and Hugh have detailed a significant development on Arthur Masuaku after the defender went under the knife this week.
The 27-year-old took to Instagram this week to explain why he wouldn’t be featuring for the Hammers against Leeds United.
Masuaku was pictured in a hospital bed after revealing that he had surgery and some Irons fans will no doubt be wondering how long he will be out for.
Claret and Hugh claim that the Congolese defender had exploratory surgery on his knee and could be back in just three weeks depending on how well the surgery has gone.
They also claimed that if Masuaku still has a problem then he could be facing an extended spell on the sidelines, possibly up to eight weeks.
Time will tell how much action Masuaku will miss but his side managed without him on Friday night as they beat Leeds United 2-1.
David Moyes switched to a back four for Friday’s game after having much success with a five at the back system this season.
Aaron Cresswell returned to his natural left-back position after being deployed as a centre back for the majority of this season and there was no drop in quality despite the changed system.
This will come as a boost to Moyes if Masuaku is out for a longer period of time as Friday’s game showed that the Hammers can cope without the 27-year-old.
Every Hammers fan will be hoping that Masuaku is back sooner rather than later so he can continue to contribute to the Iron’s outstanding start to the season which sees the club challenging in the European places.
In other West Ham news, Hammers super fans have chosen their man of the match from Friday’s game.
