Report details West Ham interest in PL midfielder, reliable club source responds

It has been reported by the Mirror recently that West Ham United may be interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to be ready to sacrifice the Brazilian as he plans to bring Ajax star, Donny Van De Beek, to Old Trafford.

It is suggested that the Hammers could be joined by Premier League rivals Newcastle and Everton for the South American.

West Ham

Reliable club source Claret and Hugh have responded to these claims on Sunday, suggesting that it is a non-starter.

A club insider told the reliable source that the £25million asking price wouldn’t suit the club and that it is unlikely that the Red Devils would even sell the midfielder.

Pereira signed a new four-year deal at the club last season and has featured regularly in the absence of Paul Pogba in this campaign.

West Ham

West Ham already have a number of strong options in the heart of midfield available to them.

David Moyes has Declan Rice, Mark Noble and of course January addition Tomas Soucek to choose from in the final nine games of the season.

The Athletic has also reported that if the Hammers secure Premier League safety, which we hope will be a formality, Czech midfielder Soucek will turn his move into a permanent one.

With those three options at the London Stadium, it is hard to imagine a spot for Pereira at the club, and we are guessing that he would want guaranteed minutes – something that wouldn’t be available in East London.
