Reliable source: West Ham youngster could seal loan exit on Tuesday

It certainly seems from all of the noises coming out of east London that West Ham United’s transfer business has begun in earnest.

That’s a very good thing, because action is needed to arrest the slump that the team endured under former manager Manuel Pellegrini over the first half of the season.

New boss David Moyes certainly has some work to do if the Irons are to reach their goals for the campaign.

However, part of that could be players leaving the London Stadium, as well as coming in. Indeed, a young starlet could soon be departing on a temporary basis.

Reliable Hammers news source ExWHUemployee claimed on his personal Twitter account that a loan exit for winger Nathan Holland could be finalised on Tuesday.

Writing about events that he expects might occur on Tuesday, he wrote: “[Darren] Randolph [to] finalise medical and complete move for £4m ish.

“Holland possibly to finalise move to Oxford United on loan. [Gedson] Fernandes talks to continue.”

West Ham Zone’s View

It’s certainly high time that Holland got a taste of regular first team football. He’s not quite at that stage with West Ham, but he surely would be in League One.

He’s been in stunning form for the club’s Under-23s side this season, scoring 11 times and bagging eight assists in 14 appearances, while playing three times for the first team as well.

Oxford are a good team with a fine manager who play attractive football, as the Hammers found out to their cost in the Carabao Cup in September. They’d be an ideal destination for young Holland.

In other West Ham news, it’s high time that a young starlet steps up to the plate after a first team injury setback.
