Reliable source: West Ham teen agrees January loan exit
The January transfer window has already seen one highly-rated West Ham United starlet seal a temporary move away from the club.
Young Hammers winger Nathan Holland completed a loan move to League One Oxford United until the end of the season on Wednesday.
And he may well be joined in the third tier by one of his Irons Under-23s team-mates in short order.
That’s because reliable West Ham source ExWHUemployee revealed on his personal Twitter account on Thursday that midfielder Conor Coventry has agreed to a loan switch to Lincoln City.
The transfer was described as a ‘great move for a great talent’, which likely reflects the mood at the London Stadium over this seemingly impending move.
The 19-year-old has made 13 appearances for the U23s this campaign, to go with one first team outing in the Carabao Cup.
West Ham Zone’s View
This makes sense for everyone involved. Coventry needs first team football at this point, he’s been knocking on the door in east London for too long.
Lincoln are a good club under a decent manager who have been progressing very well for a long time now.
It’s not an environment where Coventry is going to fall flat on his face, while League One is the right level for him at the moment.
In other West Ham news, a third Irons starlet could be on the verge of leaving the club this month.
