Reliable source: West Ham forward set for loan exit

West Ham United seem to have made it their mission this month to either offload or secure loan moves for their young starlets.

The likes of Nathan Holland and Conor Coventry have sealed promising loan exits that suggest they are highly regarded by those at the London Stadium.

Then there’s people like Martin Samuelsen and Joe Powell who have moved away from east London on a permanent basis.

It now looks like another member of the Hammers’ successful Under-23s team will be moving on imminently.

Reliable Irons insider ExWHUemployee claimed on his personal Twitter account on Wednesday that young forward Dan Kemp is set to join Stevenage on loan until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old will seemingly be joining the League Two side on Wednesday, having bagged 12 goals in 18 games for the Hammers’ Under-23s side this campaign.

Is this a good move for Kemp?

It’s hard to say. League Two should be a good level for him, because he’ll likely get the chance to play first team football on a regular basis.

However, Stevenage are entrenched in a relegation battle. They currently sit bottom of the fourth tier, so starting Kemp won’t necessarily be a priority for manager Graham Westley.

So this could go one of two ways for the youngster. He could either play regularly, score some goals and become the hero for Stevenage, or he could be swept up in a relegation battle and ignored.

In other West Ham news, the club have reportedly registered a late interest in a Premier League right back.
