Reliable journo: West Ham United 'confident' of securing deal for Watford attacker Ismaïla Sarr
West Ham United are “confident” of securing a deal for Watford forward Ismaila Sarr according to CBS Sports Golazo journalist Ben Jacobs.
As reported by ExWHUemployee via his Patreon account on Friday morning (17 June) the Hammers are set to move for the Senegalese international.
It now appears that David Moyes is growing increasingly confident of landing the 24-year-old after the Hornets’ relegation to the Championship.
Talking on NUFC Matters on Sunday 19 June [quoted by Thisisfutbol], Jacobs said: “Sarr is another player that’s been on Newcastle’s radar, but it looks like West Ham and David Moyes, from people I speak to, are far more confident in that one getting over the line.”
If West Ham can get this signing over the line then fans can begin to get excited about the new season.
Everyone knows that Moyes has to be busy in the transfer window, but it is important that the West Ham boss doesn’t just bring in quantity over quality.
Sarr is a proven talent at Premier League level and performed well in a poor Watford side in the 2021/22 season.
The attacker is exactly the type of quality player, coming into their prime that Moyes needs to target this summer.
The Hammers must continue their upward trajectory and continue to fight for the top six on a regular basis.
With Moyes getting his transfer business underway with the signing of Rennes defender Nayef Aguerd, there is plenty of optimism that the Hammers’ summer business can now begin to really get going.
It’s good to see Moyes building from the back, but ultimately, a marquee attacking signing would really whet the appetite of the London Stadium faithful.
