Reliable club source: West Ham youngster likely to play final game for the club v Spurs
West Ham United defender Jeremy Ngakia is set to play his final game for the club on Tuesday against Tottenham, according to Claret and Hugh.
The reliable club source has reported that it will take a massive change in mind for the 19-year-old to make a U-turn and sign a new deal at the London Stadium.
Ngakia started the 2-0 defeat against Wolves on Saturday afternoon and is set to leave the Irons once his contract expires at the end of June.
Tuesday night’s game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is West Ham’s final game of June, with their game against Chelsea coming in July – not ideal.
David Moyes has opened up on the potential exit of Ngakia, claiming that he is disappointed and believes he is making the wrong decision.
“We are really surprised and disappointed that Jeremy is not going to stay at West Ham,” he told the Evening Standard.
“Jeremy is another one and I feel he is making a mistake choosing not to stay with us. We’ve trusted him in big games and everyone likes him at the club.”
So, where could Ngakia end up and could Hammers fans expect to see him lining up against his former side next season?
The simple answer to that is yes. The Telegraph released a report earlier in June detailing serious interest in the 19-year-old after he burst onto the scene this season.
It is reported that a couple of Bundesliga clubs have placed offers on the table if he would like to follow in the footsteps of someone like Jadon Sancho, something that has seen the former Manchester City sensation excel.
Elsewhere, there are numerous Premier League clubs tracking Ngakia and his ongoing contract drama – something which looks set to come to an end after Tuesday’s clash with Spurs.
