Reliable club source: West Ham ace facing late fitness test before Burnley clash
West Ham United forward Sebastien Haller has had a fitness test on Tuesday to see if he can feature against Burnley on Wednesday evening.
The Frenchman has been struggling with injuries and is yet to feature after the enforced lockdown in the Premier League this season.
David Moyes has been forced to use Michail Antonio as a central striker, despite having players more suited to the lone forward role.
ExWHUemployee broke the news on their personal Twitter account on Tuesday, with hopes that he could return for the Hammers.
“He has a fitness test today to confirm,” the reliable club source shared.
Everyone at the club, especially Moyes will be crossing their fingers that Haller can make it back just in time for the crunch clash at the London Stadium.
Football London journalist Sam Inkersole has previously shared that Moyes doesn’t trust both Xande Silva or Albian Ajeti during this relegation battle.
It would be brilliant news for Moyes in particular if he had more than just Antonio to rely on, with the Scotsman even using Andriy Yarmolenko as a striker – although that did definitely work against Chelsea.
With Haller facing the late fitness test, it will be all but certain that Antonio will start again after his goal against Newcastle. The Frenchman, should he be ready, will more than likely be on the bench ready to come on and make an impact if needed.
