Reliable club source responds to reported Bournemouth interest in West Ham mainstay

West Ham United defender Aaron Cresswell faced much criticism from fans last season in the Premier League.

The left-back has often come up with pieces of magic going forward in his career but lets himself down with his defensive work.

Cresswell has been linked with an exit once again, with fans starting to question if Bournemouth could be interested in the defender.

One fan questioned reliable club source, ExWHUemployee on Saturday morning, asking whether the links are genuine.

“I don’t think so,” he replied on Twitter.

“I haven’t heard, either way, to be honest, but for a relegated club who already have a decent left-back seems odd. That said Bournemouth’s manager has lots of kinks to West Ham so wouldn’t be surprised if we do business with them further down the line.”

David Moyes will not be looking to sanction the exit of senior players, especially Cresswell who featured for the majority of last season.

It would be more likely for Arthur Masuaku to leave the London Stadium, after yet another injury-packed campaign in the Premier League.

The Guardian did report that Moyes will need to sell players in order to make any moves himself, and Masuaku was one of those on the chopping block.

Cresswell made 31 starts in the Premier League last season and was clearly favoured by Moyes, unlike others.

Masuaku only made 17 appearances, but only 10 of those were from the beginning and the African wing-back would bring in a better fee for Moyes to use – expect him to leave if anyone.
