Reliable club source: Crystal Palace clash hands selection hint, West Ham mainstay missing

West Ham United’s friendly against Crystal Palace on Saturday could hand a massive selection hint for the game v Wolves.

Claret and Hugh have reported that David Moyes could have made his mind up on the Irons’ midfield four for the Premier League restart.

It is reported that with Mark Noble missing from the friendly, the Hammers captain could be absent from the game at the London Stadium.

The reliable club source reported that Noble was not suffering from any injuries, and could now only be on the bench for the game.

Moyes used a midfield four of Declan Rice, Tomas Soucek, Jarrod Bowen and Pablo Fornals against Palace, and also used Felipe Anderson – making it more of a shock that Noble wasn’t used.

The next question mark raised was who would get the captain’s armband against Wolves, and a couple of names were thrown into the hat.

West Ham

It was suggested that either Rice or surprisingly, loanee Soucek would get the chance to lead the side in East London.

We would prefer if it was Rice with the armband, especially given the fact that the Czech Republic international has only been at the club for a few months.

Rice knows what it means to be West Ham, and his passion has dragged us through some of our darkest times in the past couple of years.
