Real Betis in ‘race against time’ to complete Pablo Fornals transfer for West Ham United – Dharmesh Sheth
Real Betis now “face a race against time” to complete the signing of Pablo Fornals from West Ham United on deadline day, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
The Sky Sports journalist reported on Sky Sports News (1 February, 21:51) that time is running out for the La Liga giants to finalise a move for the 28-year-old midfielder, with the 11pm transfer deadline drawing closer.
Fornals has been given permission to speak to Betis to conclude a deal but has been seen at the London Stadium on Thursday for the Hammers’ clash with Bournemouth and it remains to be seen whether the transfer will be completed.
Sheth said: “This is an interesting one because Real Betis have agreed a deal with West Ham United for the signing of Pablo Fornals on a permanent deal worth around £7million, he’s been given permission to speak to Betis to finalise that move, however, he was actually at the London Stadium today.
“We think it was to say goodbye to the fans and the rest of the squad before finalising that move to Real Betis. With only an hour and seven minutes left in the Spanish window as it is here, it’s a race against time to try and get that one over the line.”
Need to hurry up
There is always a risk when completing business this late in the transfer window that it may not be done in time and that seems to be a concern at the London Stadium right now.
Everything is in place for Fornals to become a Real Betis player, but the deal is not yet completed and things will have to move quickly for this to be completed.

West Ham could do with moving on the Spaniard to raise some much-needed funds. They may not have time to spend the money, but it will help their financial fair play position immensely.
Hopefully, Real Betis and West Ham win this race to get the deal completed and the Hammers will have nothing to worry about.
