Ray Parlour names who West Ham need to get in the dressing room right now amid relegation fears
Ray Parlour believes he has the solution to help West Ham United stave off Premier League relegation fears.
The Hammers’ performances have picked up of late, with West Ham’s 1-1 draw against Brighton last time out making it just one defeat in six matches.
West Ham are big underdogs against Aston Villa this weekend, however, and no win in four games would put a different spin on those recent results.
And in the view of Arsenal legend Parlour, there is one obvious solution for West Ham in this time of need.
West Ham urged to get Mark Noble inside dressing room
Gary Neville recently said he fears relegation for West Ham on the basis of Leeds United’s form picking up drastically.
The Hammers are two points from safety ahead of the trip to Villa Park, and that gap could easily stretch to five points.
Speaking on talkSPORT Breakfast on Friday morning, Parlour said he believes the London Stadium side should consider getting experienced figure Mark Noble in the dressing room.
“They need a Mark Noble in the office,” he said. “You’ve got to have those characters in there when you’re up against it.”
Noble is already involved behind the scenes at West Ham as he is currently employed as sporting director.
However, Parlour is presumably implying that Noble needs to get more hands-on and work closer with the playing squad.
It is certainly an interesting theory, but Nuno Espirito Santo may well have different ideas.

Forget Noble, this is what West Ham really need
While it is all well and good suggesting it is important to have those who have been there and done it involved in the dressing room, there is a simpler solution for West Ham.
Nuno’s done well with what he has to work with, but the truth is this West Ham squad is lacking quality in too many areas.
| Pos | Team | Points | GD |
| 16 | Leeds | 15 | -10 |
| 17 | Nottingham Forest | 15 | -11 |
| 18 | West Ham | 13 | -12 |
| 19 | Burnley | 10 | -14 |
| 20 | Wolves | 2 | -25 |
West Ham continue to be linked with new players ahead of the January transfer window, and it may well be that one or two new recruits are needed.
Many are saying West Ham are too good to go down, but the table does not lie at the end of a 38-game season.
The quality of the teams in the bottom half has improved this season – Wolves aside – and the Irons need to get their business spot on in January if they are to avoid dropping into the second tier.
