Ray Parlour destroys stupidest thing he’s ever heard as Ian Abrahams shares West Ham and Leicester idea

Ray Parlour has torn Ian Abrahams to shreds after the talkSPORT broadcaster suggested West Ham should have their game called off against Arsenal on Sunday.

David Moyes’ men will play the second leg of their Europa League semi-final at Frankfurt next Thursday and in order to aid their chances, Abrahams, also known as the Moose, thinks Arsenal should be awarded a win without a game being played this weekend.

Abrahams claims Leicester, who face the same situation but in the Europa Conference League, should also be given the weekend off and a win awarded to Tottenham.

West Ham

Spurs and Arsenal are both battling for fourth but even ex-Gunners man Parlour isn’t having Abrahams’ ridiculous idea.

As shown in a video clip on the talkSPORT Twitter account on Friday morning [29 April], Abrahams said: “If I was the Premier League, the sensible, common-sense approach is, ‘right, lads, everybody have a weekend off, we’ll give Spurs and Arsenal both 2-0 wins and three points’.”

Alan Brazil instantly said: “Come on. You can’t do that, you numpty.

“Did you have any sleep last night?”

Parlour then said: “That’s the most stupidest thing I’ve ever heard in my life.”

“You can’t just suddenly, this weekend, say, ‘you four teams don’t play because you’re in the Europa League and you’re going for fourth place. You can’t do that.”

Abrahams, somehow, tried to defend his idea by saying: “This is a unique situation.”

After Parlous mentioned the league table coming down to goal difference, the ex-Arsenal player added: “Moose, you must be hungry.”

What the…?

We know that talkSPORT love to have pundits and journalists on their team who just say stupid things for the sake of it.

It causes controversy, it increases their online reach and leads to them making more money.

But we couldn’t help but ignore this latest fabrication from the nation’s biggest sports radio station.

What on earth is Abrahams on about?

West Ham

This guy is a West Ham supporter and he thinks that we should just concede defeat to Arsenal on Sunday?

Would it not be better to just rotate the squad if Moyes wants players to have a weekend off and play some youngsters?

It’s absolutely crazy to suggest that both West Ham and Leicester – who still have places to fight for in the Premier League – should just roll over and give up three points to two teams just fighting for fourth.

Mathematically, a fourth-place finish is still possible for both Man United and West Ham. It’s unlikely, but you don’t just start awarding wins for the sake of it.

In other West Ham news, the Irons have just hours to stop this big-name player from leaving.
