Pundit names West Ham United ace James Ward-Prowse as ‘signing of the summer’ live on talkSPORT
New West Ham United midfielder James Ward-Prowse will be the signing of the summer, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
The 28-year-old joined the Hammers from Southampton earlier this month following the latter’s relegation to the Championship.
The midfielder has made an instant impact in claret and blue, registering two assists on his debut against Chelsea on Sunday (20 August).

“Who will be the best signing of the summer?” host Alan Brazil asked Agbonlahor live on talkSPORT.
Agbonlahor replied: “I have to go value for money also, so I’m going to with James Ward-Prowse for £35m, it’s a third of what Declan Rice cost Arsenal.
“Two assists in his first game against Chelsea, ran the midfield against £100millon man Enzo Fernandez. West Ham have got a big side, players that can score goals like Soucek and other players at the back. Ward-Prowse is going to be great from set-pieces.”

Top signing
There is no doubt whatsoever that Ward-Prowse will be a top player for West Ham, both for this season and for many years to come.
That was always going to be the case with the England international, who has been among the best players in the Premier League for many years now.
His stunning set-piece ability will be key for the Hammers in the coming months, but his passing, dribbling and tackling abilities cannot be overlooked.
Central defender Nayef Aguerd and striker Michail Antonio have already benefitted from his passing ability, having been on the end of his passes against the Blues before finding the back of the net, with the former’s coming from a corner and the latter’s coming from open play.
The Hammers really could be in for a lot of headed goals this season, with the likes of Aguerd, Kurt Zouma and new signing Konstantinos Mavropanos certain to be very excited when travelling up for corners.
