Player who Mark Noble loves set to return to West Ham squad vs Tottenham after injury
Mark Noble continues to influence West Ham as their Sporting Director.
The ex-Hammers midfielder accepted the role in January 2023, just six months after retiring from professional football.
Noble is a West Ham legend, and many youngsters within the Irons set up will be wanting to replicate his success.
Graham Potter’s side have lacked any energy in midfield so far this season, but one player could bring more determination in the middle of the park as he looks to return to action against Tottenham.

George Earthy set to be part of West Ham’s squad vs Tottenham
Mateus Fernandes looked strong for West Ham in the 3-0 win against Nottingham Forest.
However, the midfield is still lacking depth, with the Hammers disappointed not to sign one more player in the middle of the park.
21-year-old Freddie Potts has impressed for West Ham in pre-season, alongside George Earthy.
Earthy spent last season out on loan with Bristol City, and turned down another Championship loan in the summer to fight for a place in the first team at the London Stadium.
The midfielder picked up an ankle ligament injury sustained during the Hammers’ pre-season game with Fulham.
- Earthy made 37 Championship appearances for Bristol City last season
- Featured three times for West Ham in the Premier League in 2023-24
- Yet to be used by Potter this season
- Earthy was nominated for the Young Hammer of the Year in 2024
However, according to Claret and Hugh, Earthy is set to return to the first team next time out against Tottenham.
His return will be a big boost for Potter, who clearly rates him highly, and will add some much-needed depth to the midfield.

What Mark Noble has said about George Earthy
To gain high praise from a Hammers legend like Noble will have been immense for any youngster’s confidence.
Speaking after Earthy won the Young Hammer of the Year award in 2024, Noble said: “He has a fantastic attitude towards his development.
“He works hard on and off the pitch, listens to advice and always wants to get better.
“It is a testament to his personality and talent that the first-team players have accepted him into the group, and you could see when he came on against Fulham last month that they immediately trusted him.”
Earthy has been with the Hammers since 2010, so he knows the significance of earning compliments from Noble.
The youngster’s current contract runs out next summer, so he will be working hard to put himself into Potter’s plans.
On the current basis, the Irons would be silly not to offer him a new contract.
